Record Settings in Zoom
This page walks through the recording settings needed to set up Zoom to record discrete audio tracks from the participants in a Zoom meeting.
In order to get the most out of interviews being conducted over Zoom, here are the record settings that you can configure to record discrete audio tracks from the participants in a Zoom meeting.
Note: You need to be logged into the Syracuse University instance of zoom (http://syracuseuniversity.zoom.us/) or using a paid account to have access to these features
Logging into Syracuse University Zoom
In a web browser go to http://syracuseuniversity.zoom.us/
Click on Sign in.
On the SU authentication page, login with your SU netid and password.
In the menu on the left, select Settings.
On the Settings page, Click on the Recording tab.
Configuring Recording Settings in Zoom
Recording individual audio streams for each participant
To set Zoom to record individual audio streams of each participant, configure the settings as follows:
Local recording: set to OFF (grey)
Cloud Recording: Set to ON (blue)
Check the following:
Record active speaker with shared screen
Record audio-only files
Record one audio file for all participants
Record a separate audio file for each participant
Click SAVE at bottom of settings list to lock in settings
Once these are set, when you host a zoom meeting and record it to the cloud, when the meeting is done it will save the individual participants audio files to your zoom account.
Recording multiple video streams of meeting
To capture individual video recordings of the active speaker, gallery and shared screen, configure the settings as follows:
Local recording: set to OFF (grey)
Cloud Recording: Set to ON (blue)
Check the following:
Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately
Active Speaker
Gallery View
Shared Screen
Advanced cloud recording settings
Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor
Click SAVE at bottom of settings list to lock in settings
Once these are set, when you host a zoom meeting and record it to the cloud, when the meeting is done it will save the individual video files to your zoom account.
Accessing recorded meeting files
After the files are processed, you will get an email when they are ready to download. The recordings will be found on the Recordings menu page in your zoom account.
